Surprise surprise, I woke up this morning with the sun shining. No kidding. It really was a surprise. For the past few days I have awoke to cloudy skies, snow on the car and cold temperatures. I haven't gone outside yet, but it looks like a perfectly beautiful spring day from inside the hotel room.
I am feeling so rested and peaceful I am not sure I want to move. Last night I went to the grocery store, bought crackers and cheese, my new favorite beer, Easy Street, and a lemon, an apple and a cup thing of Mocha Almond ice cream. My intent was to go do a quick work out in the pool and then watch the b-ball games, munch and take it easy.
I really did go to the pool and could only get in as far as my knees. I was so cold and since they didn't have a hot pool, i couldn't get overheated and want the coolness. I gave it a mini hero's effort and decided that I would try and do something tomorrow for all of the fat grams I was going to put in my body tonight. (And since it is now today, it may have to be tomorrow again.)
Anyway, I used a plastic knife from the hotels breakfast area and made myself a nice little spread on a napkin and enjoyed watching the games, catching up on Yahoo news, doing a little nail work and playing a couple games of solitaire. What more could a girl on the road want. I saw the Cavs beat the Celtics but fell asleep just as the Suns were pushing back against the Spurs. So, I am trying to catch the outcome on the news this morning before I get on the road.
I am headed to Mount Rushmore and then am going to take the secondary or maybe the thirdary (I know that is not a word) roads across the state of South Dakota. That way I can drive through a couple of Indian Reservations.
I have a couple of more Audio books to listen to, several books to leave behind and still come up with the solution to solve world hunger. But I am heading back towards home....with mixed feelings, but with feeling.
I sure hope that some of that new beer makes it back into Michigan. Flannery says "I love you Nina and I want fish." I don't know if she means to eat or to have in a tank. Not getting either right now anyway so I didn't ask for clarification.
