Today was a day that had no real theme or rhythm to it. I started out the morning looking like a confused fashionista. I had on old lady jeans, silver hoops, my black sweater with pearls, cowboy boots and none of it went with my sultry eyes. I think that made me realize I needed to put some order to my travels and had to work out of one suitcase at a time. So, for the 3rd time since I packed, I went through the two that I threw things into (and had already taken out what I thought was extra) and had to and then put the specific jeans with specific shirts, with shoes and socks. I think I am so used to planning my clothes for my week that it doesn't work to just look and see what is available to put on.
After feeling like I could at least put it together for tomorrow....I went to the Abraham Lincoln Museum. I must admit that the only reason I went was that I was in Springfield which is Lincoln land. I found that I was more impressed and appreciative of the experience than I thought I would be. The inside of the building is impressive in that it has wings where you walk through and have a visual and and auditory experience of his life. You can walk through the log cabin, see him as a store clerk, a lawyer with his boys running wild in the office and read the milestones and historical events. You then go to the next phase which is his political life, presidential elections, etc. If anyone is as upset as I am with all of the President Obama bashing, they should go through the area where the press and other politicians were making very derogatory comments about Lincoln and his wife Mary. It reminded me so much of what we hear in the media today. But history has a way of speaking for itself.
As I was leaving I was wondering what the Lincoln Museum in Fort Wayne was all about. I never took the time to visit it while I lived there, and I never thought I was much of a history buff, but I may need to go when I get back to Warsaw for a visit. I just hope someone volunteers to go with me. Anyway, I must have been still thinking and passionate - that as I was leaving downtown Springfield, I found myself driving the wrong way on a one way street. It was a good thing it was Sunday and most things were closed, or maybe had it not been Sunday I would have seen other cars on the road before I turned.
I will visit the museum with you. But im known to drive the car in the wrong lane;( askim
