Okay, as everyone knows.....I love it when things coordinate. So, I bought this nice little red sleeping bag that I thought I would be good to have in the car - just in case. Just in case I get stranded in the mountains, just in case I am not trusting of the bed sheets if can't find a hotel chain and I am not so sure about the local one, just in case I run out of gas and it is cold while I wait for the tow truck, or just in case I run into a rodeo bull and I need to wave it to keep it from attacking...just in case.
I also had decided in the back of my mind, that I would not "put anyone out' so I could spend my moving day in the apartment and get nostalgic. The first night I stayed here, I used a blow-up bed that did not blow up and ended up sleeping on the floor....so, what the heck, I could do it again and enjoy the big windows, wide sky and night stars one last time.
I am not sure what was the first mistake..not asking for help, thinking I WANTED to do this or having aged another year and have less padding. Yikes my body ached, I could not get comfortable and to top it all off.......I could not roll that cute little bag up in the morning. I could not hold onto it, couldn't get it tight enough and then couldn't get the dang bag around it....I ended up stuffing it into the bag, which looks very misshapen and the cute little red bed will be so wrinkled if have to use it again, JUST IN CASE.....and that in itself will drive me crazy....how could I look at all of those wrinkles and relax??
All I know is that in the end, I think I am going to avoid any situation that would result in a just in case. I will keep the tank full, Look for the Marriotts or Hampton Inns, hike on foot on sunny days and stay in the stands if I go to the rodeo.
And yes..I will try and ask for help if I need it. Probably won't need it....but just in case I have put that thought in my mind.

I had a sleeping bag experience today too! The frills are spending the night at school and they needed sleeping bags. I am typing this on my new iPad...so cool! I'm so glad you had a great moving experience. I have moved with you before and it wasn't such a great time! Oh the memories. Good luck as you start on your journey. I will be waiting for your blog everyday and wishing I was on your journey with you.
ReplyDeleteLove ya...Jennifer
p.s. Be safe and don't talk to strangers!
So, any good dreams sleeping on the floor? Ah, ha! Just as I thought! Cowboys and indians! (Now you'll probably need an adjustment on the road!) Just had a musical flash... "Happy trails to you.. until we meet again. Happy trails to you, keep smiling on till then!" Name the artist and win a blow up bed. Ta-ta sister! LuvU, Cindy
